Transitions

As I was watching the sun go down out the office window today I was struck not only by the majesty of our Creator's Hand but also by His perfect shalom in the middle of transitions.  Perhaps this post is a bit of a self-indulgent pondering but I'm sure everyone would agree.  That small window of time between one day setting and another beginning is really a thing of beauty and wonder - how true is that of this journey and discovery of Torah.  Here at Hebron, where we endeavour to live out our understanding of Torah and community has been, and will continue to be, one of discovery.  At times His shalom may seem very distant, but in reality He is ever present and watchful. So whether you're enjoying a sunset over the plains, the coast or the hills, may the perfect Shalom of Yehovah our Adoni be upon you.

Koinonia

This weekend those of us who could gather at Hebron enjoyed each others company, the fabulous weather and the satisfaction of ticking a few chores off the list.  We had a great discussion time around the koinonia that Paul spoke about, our Torah journey, the blessings of Yehovah and the privilege and challenges of community.   We also welcomed our newest addition to Hebron, the new ram to keep our flock company.  He's a young 11 months old but eager to enter his new role. The new farm ute was put through its paces today and I'm sure it will continue to prove its worth.  (John and Trevor showing it off) A great buy and the hydraulic workshop is a real bonus. We also kitted out the living room and dining area with donations from Christine's workplace - what a difference it's made.  (Cousins Yohanan, Yakira and Bonnie enjoying a colouring-in session) The site of many future fellowship meals. We also planted willows and natives at the top dam

Sunny Days

How blessed are we to have Hebron and how blessed is Hebron to have us!    While walking in the front paddock (that's the Palmer Cook Hill paddock) I disturbed two kangaroos. I tried to take a photo but they were too quick for me - but trust me, it was lovely to watch them bounding away. The site of future baptisms into the Name of Yehovah, who is One. Good to see water in the top dam again.  I'm looking forward to hearing the frogs again and watching the dragon flies at dusk come spring.  We'll plant some trees here this winter as well. The view from the shed paddock looking down on the Murray Plains.  What a magnificent view it is from up here.  Wouldn't it be great to see a wind turbine or two in the future! Next time I'll try and get some photos of the flock for you.  They're not so obliging when it comes to posing for my little camera!  Surely, Yehovah has brought us into a broad and fertile place.  Not without challenges and opportunit

Inaugral Update

View from front garden towards Palmer Cooks Hill Road. Hello fellow sojourners and welcome to the first update at the Herald.  This space will be used to regularly keep you informed on what's happening at Hebron, what we hope to happen at Hebron and why we have Hebron.   It's been quite a journey since we took ownership back in January, 2006 and occasionally I'll post some past photos and some of the history as well.   What a privilege it is to be stewards of this small patch of Yehovah's land and what a journey it has been thus far as we endeavour to be faithful to Him and express His Torah to the best of our ability here at Hebron.   Feel free to leave comments, suggestions and requests. Shalom
