Sukkot 2017

Sukkot was a wonderful time of fun, fellowship and friendship.  Hebron was filled with the noise of children, chatter, music, motorbikes, dogs and the ding-dong of the mealtime bell.  It was busy, it was chaotic and it was marvellous.     We had daily times of scripture and prayer, and weather permitting we sat under the sukkah.   It's these times that bring such encouragement on our journey along this narrow road.       Sukkot is a wonderful opportunity to put the busyness of life aside for a while to renew our hope in the coming of Messiah Yeshua and celebrate His lovingkindness and mercy.     What a blessing Hebron is.  We had perfect weather for a picnic by the dam and kite flying, and of course the annual cricket match.     And Sukkot at Hebron wouldn't be the same without the Hebron Follies!  We were entertained by musical prowess, wit and humour.      During our evenings we chatted through the first few chapters of Romans b

Shabbat Shalom! What a gorgeous full moon it is, heralding in the moed of Sukkot.  Shame my camera isn't up to the task, but if you look outside you can appreciate what I'm saying!  A touch cloudy and windy, but marvellous nonetheless. Hebron is ready to welcome the community - the gardens look fabulous (thanks Parkers!), the house is ready, the tanks are full and anticipation is high.  What will this week of Sukkot bring I wonder?  Much joy, fellowship, laughter and praise I'm sure.  Times of scripture, times of prayer, times of praise, times of reflection....times of challenge, times of stone-against-stone, times of frustration maybe, but all of the positives and and all of the challenges are what makes community a blessing. What wisdom and foresight of our Father and Creator!  Personally I much preferred my years of aloneness (is that such a word I wonder?).  There were very few challenges against my personality, values and views.  There was such peace!  True, it w
