Blessings

Considering there's been a few things happening up here at Hebron I thought a  blog post would be appropriate.   You might notice that I've also included a new page Purposes of Hebron and earlier this year I updated the Recabite Living page.  I will also update the Journey page...eventually. This winter has been awfully dry and the forecast is for a drier than normal spring as well.  So it's timely that we replaced one of our old and broken tanks with a bigger and better poly tank just in time for a decent rainfall of around 18ml.  Praise to Yehovah for His blessings!    Last month we sold off 20 of our bigger, older ewes to reduce the load on our paddocks and to filter out our taller Damara ewes so there is a higher lambing rate with our Dorper rams.  We also put 2 lambs and 2 mutton ewes into the freezer.   One of the projects we've wanted to tick off the list for quite a while now is to redesign the front entrance.  There's a few little jo

Ants....

Earlier this year I started to write another post but never got around to finishing it, so here it is... It's that time of year when Hebron is invaded by ants....so many ants!  Sometimes I get concerned that all the burrows and nests underground are going to give way and we'll be plunged into the deepest bowels of the earth, to be carried away as fodder for the queens and their minions! I remember the poem Robyn wrote about millipedes (it was a cracker) and was tempted to try and write something as witty about the current ant invasion but each person must know their limits and in this instance I bow to the lyrical master.  I know that Solomon, in all his wisdom, had the deepest respect for ants and yes, their work ethic and social structure can't be faulted.  But it's the numbers, the sheer numbers of them out here that are mind boggling.  You're constantly doing a tap dance while watering the garden, the dog can't rest, the chooks are pestered, the be

Shabbat Shalom!

Last weekend Hebron filled with people and it was a really lovely time together.  It was gorgeous weather so we gathered under the sukkot for prayer, thanksgiving and scripture, followed by a BBQ.  How blessed are we!  I scampered off to Victoria to spend time with family but the rest of you filled the next couple of days being very productive and looking like you're enjoying each other's company.  Stone fruit and capers... fruits for our labours. Of course all work and no play makes for dull days!   Stage 1 of the new front entrance was completed with the fencing being realigned.    These kids have been blessed to have grown with Hebron. More work on the front entrance will continue this week so when I get back from my travels I'll be able to enjoy your company.  So I pray Yehovah's blessings on you all as you gather together tomorrow for shabbat.
