Step by step, little by little....

The promise of Yehovah to the children of Israel that He would pave the way ahead of them little by little is His wisdom and foresight (Ex 23:28-30).  That has been our experience here at Hebron as well.  This process is producing good results for the land, for the stock, for the infrastructure and for our community.  Of course not without its struggles, blood, sweat and tears, but it is definitely worth it all. Since moving back a couple of months ago I have wanted to start making the house and surrounds attractive, welcoming and a good testament.  On Sunday I finished cleaning up and making a garden bed.  This spot has been a mess of rocks, piles of dirt, charcoal, metal and rubbish so it was a very big tick off my list.  I planted my dwarf pomegranate and annuals, so come Sukkot it should look more attractive. Brendan installed the yagi 3G antenna and modem up at the shed on Sunday.  It needs to be fine tuned but we now have a ...

On the throne...

We have been stewards of this property for 6 1/2 years and and for all that time we have needed extra soil to landscape around the house and finish the shed site.  This is not as easy a task as it first might sound.  Firstly, we are needing over a hundred tonne of dirt and secondly, the sheer distance makes it too expensive to pay for cartage.  Thankfully Father YHVH is on the throne and all the earth is His - including land fill! Yesterday Tiffany and Nathan brought the boys up and Riley enjoyed his 'motorbike' ride and some kite flying.  It ...

Set Apart

It's been rather quiet up here at Hebron the last couple of weeks, although life itself has been busy so those moments when you go outside and breath deeply of the peace and quiet are life-giving and precious.  Resident ducks on the top dam We've had more lambs born this week, although it's jolly difficult to get a definite headcount without getting them in the yards.  We definitely have another set of twins and a single, or two singles, which makes 17 or 18 newcomers all up.  In the next month or so before Sukkot we will be taking a number of last year's wethers and others marked for culling so the freezer will be restocked.  The local butcher slaughters the animals and hangs them for a couple of days, which ensures the carcass is well and truly bled out before they reach the saw.  The ability to raise our own meat and have confidence that the animals have lived well and are clean according to Torah is a real blessing.  The blessing of eating clean...
