January 2006 saw us take possession of this plot of land that used to be called Anunaka and we renamed it Hebron. We arrived full of vision, hope and enthusiasm. A decade later we are a little older, maybe not so energetic but definitely full of vision, hope and enthusiasm.
In a few weeks we will be coming together to celebrate YHVH's blessing and provision, chat through our hopes and visions for the future, and plan our commemorative project, because we just don't have enough projects on the go. :) We will be giving our front entrance a makeover and a new sign to create a welcoming first impression.
We were blessed to receive 30ml of rain at the end of January and it gave our trees and soil a much needed drink. There's a bit of green pick out in the paddocks to contribute to the flock's feed, which I'm sure will be much appreciated by the nursing ewes and growing lambs. It's been a dry spring and summer so the news that the El Nino weather pattern is beginning to break is very welcome indeed.
Because of the poor conditions this year our hives haven't been able to produce as much honey as they would need or we would like, however, I did take off two frames of honey. There are some flowering gums and with the recent rain there should be enough nectar and pollen around so they should be able to create enough stores before winter.
It was very satisfying to be able to distribute our first honey harvest, albeit smaller than hoped.
You've probably heard me say before but I love paths and gates. Don't know why but they just make me smile. Little things that suggest a journey, a destination; giving one a brief moment in time to pause, to reflect. The awesome privilege of living here at Hebron, having the ability and liberty to create these little whimsies, is never taken for granted.
A community property comes with its own challenges and blessings and with each additional person and family comes fresh dynamics and flavours. I look forward to the next 10 years and experiencing all that YHVH has for us.
Shalom

It had been too long since your last post. The entries are always a welcome interruption to the weekly distractions of life.

I have been rather slack of late so I'll make an effort to post more regularly....don't want to be guilty of hogging Hebron! Shabbat Shalom
DeleteThanks Annette,
ReplyDeleteIt's always nice to read a report from your home base and our community dwelling which you are taking very good care of for us. The coming reflections and celebration of our short journey thus far will be a great occasion which much to give thanks for. Dad
