Pesach 2016

Hebron was full of life, laughter and joy when we gathered together to share in the Pesach meal together.  Falling on a Friday evening it was a busy and hectic week for everyone to be organised and come together in time but it was well worth the effort.  We were also joined by Kerry and Alan from Ballarat way, which made it even more special.

On the Monday previous we had several of our flock slaughtered by a mobile butcher in preparation for Pesach.  This was the first time we've processed the sheep this way and even though it is slightly more expensive it was worth it for humane reasons and the less running around.  It was also the first time we spit roasted a lamb and as complete novices it was a day fraught with drama keeping the beast where it should be, but at the end of the day it roasted up perfectly and in time.

Quite a few of our group were able to stay the night so we could continue fellowship for Shabbat.  It was a perfect day of fellowship, relaxation and praising our Messiah, Yeshua.  During our time of praise the kindness and compassion of Yehovah was evidenced in Him manifesting His presence to minister to us, bringing liberty, revelation and healing.  How amazing is His mercy and love!  Lives touched; never to be the same.  Hallelu Yah, Yeshua our passover lamb lives to reign!

Some were able to stay another night so we could spend another day together to complete some necessary tasks, such as weaning off the lambs from the flock.  There's always tasks to complete and maintenance to be attended to but it's even better when you can complete these with friends.

It's weekends like this that Hebron comes into its own.  The house is full, kids are enjoying the great outdoors, dogs are having a ball (except mine who goes into OCD overdrive) and the property is slowly but steadily being developed.
One of the jobs we will need to do over the next month or so is planting out more tree seedlings.  Tree planting is one of those jobs no one jumps for joy over but the benefits are incalculable.  We're waiting for more rain so the subsoil moisture will sustain the seedlings.

All praise to Him from whom all blessings flow!

Sheep of His Pasture

The guys have been out fixing fences so that our flock can move into the paddock.  The roos have a tendency to break fences and dig holes so it's an ongoing chore unfortunately.  Whilst it's rather nice to see them out in the paddocks, and to see when the joeys emerge from the pouch, it can be frustrating as well. Moving the flock into a different paddock is always one of my favourite things to do because you get to give them a closer check and they're always excited about going into a fresh paddock.   So late in the afternoon last Friday I thought, why not share it with you as well.  Enjoy a quick visit to Hebron and I pray that wherever you are, in whatever pasture our Father YHVH has you, that you are blessed and experiencing His overshadowing kindness.

Joy Comes in the Morning

For over a year South Australia and Victoria have been in drought.  Dams are dry, crops have failed and trees are dying.   When the community bought the property 19 years ago we invested in sinking a bore to ensure water security.  The water quality is good enough to water the stock and our gardens.  We also have large rainwater tanks which have kept water to the house.  However, if the drought had of continued we would have hooked the house up to the bore water as well.    We had stored enough hay to feed our sheep and alpacas and they were well fed.  Investment in the infrastructure has been a big expense in both finances and labour over the years, but it's in years like this that it's well worth it.  It brings so much joy to see the green grass and gardens when the paddocks are bare and dry.   Praise YHVH, the rains came last week!   We have received 40ml over the last couple of weeks and more is on the...

Where Your Treasure Is.....

Life has changed for our community and we are now split between two geographic locations - Salem and Mildura - with a few of us coming and going between them.   When the scripture says we are an 'unusual people', that certainly has an added layer for our community!      We are full of anticipation of what YHVH will pour out for the people of Australia, particularly the towns along the Murray River and Victoria.     But coming home to Hebron is always so good for the soul. Open skies - Open spaces   So lovely to see water in the top dam, grass emerging and  paddocks been sown for this year's hay crop.     I have been reflecting more on the truth and freedom of Yeshua's command:   Do not lay up for yourselves treasures upon earth,  where moth and rust destroy,  and where thieves break in and steal.   But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven,  where neither moth nor rust destroys,  and whe...
