Over a year ago Yakira and I dreamt of how Hebron's fellowship house could be updated and better suited to how we functioned as a messianic community.
We could see a fellowship room that had room to easily accommodate people and all the instruments. Of course there had to be room to wave branches during Sukkot and the odd flag or two as well! Being of the creative ilk we also wanted it to be aesthetically pleasing and could see the HTTN logo painted on a wall.
The design of the logo has evolved over time to reflect the mandate that YHVH has set for this part of His body in Adelaide. Sonya devoted many hours to bring to life the visual expression of that mandate and Yakira redesigned the logo.
Why so much attention to a logo and visual expression of the mandate? Because we as a community of torah-loving disciples of Messiah Yeshua have hearts that hold dreams and promises that are bigger than us as individuals or even collectively. These visual flags, standards, could be said to be a rallying point for this community.
As individual personalities most of us would much prefer to stay in our own backyard enjoying a simple life. But we have been arrested and set apart. There is a fire that burns within our hearts that cannot and should not be contained.
There are sheep who are in desperate need of shepherding. There are sheep who are tired of drinking muddy water and eating grass that's been trampled, and YHVH has heard their cry.
We are bold enough to believe that we are one part of the body of Messiah who are called to bring His truth, His love and His light. He who has promised is more than able bring it to pass. We see truth being declared beyond our city, even beyond our nation. We see lives being transformed by His love, power and compassion. We see His kingdom coming and His will being done.
We see a day when different Messianic families or fellowships in Adelaide and in Australia come together to celebrate the feasts, being an encouragement and blessing to each other, and being fed and revived by the Ruach.
On either side of the river was the tree of life, bearing twelve kinds of fruit, yielding its fruit every month; and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations. Rev 22:2
We will gather at Hebron later this week for Yom Teruah. Shofars will be blown and shouts of praise will ring throughout the hills. We long for that great day when we hear the shofar blast and the Messiah of all mankind will come to rule and reign with a rod of iron and bring shalom.
See you soon at Hebron!
