Odd Couple Visitors

It's not everyday that I get visitors here at Hebron and so unexpected arrivals are always welcome.  Even more welcome are those visitors that make me smile.  Tonight I stepped outside to enjoy the dusk when I was greeted by the unusual sight of seven deer and one billy goat making themselves at home in the driveway paddock.

The photos aren't very good but you get you the idea.  Who knows where this odd mob came from and where they're heading but it was nice to see them passing through....even though they were a bit rough on the fences.
I checked the dam and it would appear that Brendan and Trevor's fencing has worked and the flock are no longer accessing it.  Brendan put half a dozen fish in there a few weeks ago but I haven't been able to catch sight of them to check on their progress.  We may be receiving more rain on this weekend and it will be good to eventually see both dams fill and freshen up.

On the weekend I went to a local alpaca breeder's open day and had a look at their wethers and gleaned from their experience regarding using alpaca wethers as sheep guardians.  It was decided that we purchase another young boy to help Gulliver protect the sheep as we have been losing lambs.  This weekend I will go and select one of the pretty boys for them to deliver.  Fox numbers have increased so a regular shooting regime will hopefully put a kibosh on them.

This week I have also been in touch with a caper grower from near Port Pirie and arranged to purchase a dozen plants, which I will pick up from the city tomorrow.  Naturally I will also take the opportunity to pick his brains regarding best practice for this caper venture.

This is our eighth year of being stewards of this patch of land and slowly but surely the place is being transformed into a working, enjoyable and productive environment.  Why would Yehovah call this little band to become a community of people who express that community mindedness through joint ownership of this property?  It's a mystery but I'm grateful that He did call us to this journey.  Thankfully we don't have to make this vision happen on our own:

"The LORD your God will clear away these nations before you little by little; you will not be able to put an end to them quickly, for the wild beasts would grow too numerous for you. But the LORD your God will deliver them before you, and will throw them into great confusion until they are destroyed.  Deut: 7:22

Then he said to me, "This is the word of the LORD to Zerubbabel saying, 'Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,' says the LORD of hosts. Zech 4:7

    1. Thanks Christina. This time of year is always lovely with the paddocks turning green and the weather being so mild. The young trees took a bit of a hit with the extreme summer but some of them are rejuvenating which is good. We are surely blessed and highly favoured!

Unleavened Bread - 2024

For this small part of Yeshua's body, Healing to the Nations in South Australia, the last few months, including the past week of Pesach, has been ....well, different and unusual.  It has truly been a period of time where Father YHVH has been rooting and grounding us in His love, word and truth.  We gathered together at Hebron to keep the Pesach memorial and there was a stripping back.  No traditions, no add-ons, just Yeshua's Pesach and Yeshua's words.  The following day, the first day of Unleavened Bread, the Father's kindness and uncompromising truth was manifested amongst us.  It was truly a blessed time together.  Traditionally the week of unleavened bread will have an emphasis of dealing with the carnal ego, which is very apt, or the leaven of the pharisees, which is also very apt.  However, Paul emphasised that sin that is tolerated is also leaven that must be exposed and dealt with to ensure that the body of Yeshua is kadosh, which was emphasise...

Sukkot in the Adelaide Hills

With the autumn feasts upon us I was reflecting on Sukkot last year and how the year since has been full of YHVH's blessings and encouragements.   The HTTN community purchased the property nearly 19 years ago and we have worked hard to develop it.  There is still much to be done so that it can facilitate the purposes that YHVH wants for it but He has proven Himself faithful to His word over the years.  Not a minute too late, not a minute too soon.   We are looking forward to celebrating Yom Teruah next week and then Sukkot a few weeks later.  Hebron will once again be filled with the sound of shofars, singing and laughter.  Yes, there have been times of weeping and even then He proves Himself merciful and faithful. Hallelu Yah!

Shalom with Messiah

In a few weeks we will begin the next phase of the moed with Yom Teruah, Yom Kippur and Sukkot.  As with every year, we are eagerly anticipating this time with YHVH and the community in the Adelaide Hills.   One thing we say every year is that we long for the day when the wider Messianic community come together at Sukkot to celebrate with praise, feasting and fellowship.  It would seem that the Messianic community is relatively young and scattered in Australia and in the early days we would at times wonder if there was anyone else responding to the call to come out of the Christian church system and return to the ancient paths.  And of course there were and are. It's always so exciting when we meet another person or family who are on the same path and we can rejoice together.  We all have different stories, backgrounds and experiences but the common and binding truth is that YHVH is love and that love is expressed not only in His redemption but in the fullness o...
