Sukkot - 8th Day

So the festival season is over for another year and what a blessing it has been.  The Great 8th Day was celebrated by those who could be at Hebron with shofar blasts, praises and fellowship.  We also shared around the Word and explored the purpose of the 8th Day and how it testifies of the millennial reign of Yeshua and the outpouring of the Ruach HaKodesh, bringing righteousness, healing and restoration.  And we say "Maranatha!"  Some of us enjoying the sukkah one morning.  The day before Sukkot we sent off three of our sheep to be slaughtered and dressed.  They were all in good nick and we were very pleased with the quality of the cuts. Here's Christine having a bit of a laugh with the Lion and the lamb :) Part of Hebron's purpose is to be a provision of meat, vegetables and fruit for ourselves and eventually for others in need as we become more fruitful.  At the moment we are able to keep ourselves supplied with lamb but we are ...

Sukkot 2

We've had a busy sukkot week up here at Hebron with visitors coming and going, fellowship and chores, so an afternoon picnic and games by the bottom dam was very welcome.  Two little pink girls squealing with delight as they ride down the hill.  Brendan taking Christina for a 'romantic' ride.  A game of cricket for the 'kids'.  The child safety fence coming along with new gates in place. What a blessing Hebron is in celebrating Sukkot.  We have been discussing and studying Galatians this week and enjoying delving into the truths that Yeshua brings.  Hallelu-Yah!  The Spirit and the bride same "Come"! Still a few days left of Sukkot and we'll be having an 8th Day celebration on Monday so feel free to wander up and join us as we sing, shout, wave banners and blow the shofar. Shalom

Sukkot

A few photos and quick updates for everyone to participate in our activities this week at Hebron. We had a fantastic time of rejoicing, celebration, branch waving and shofar blowing on the First Day of Sukkot.   The kids lend a helping hand via the tractor bucket to decorate the sukkah with branches.  Festive flags  Guys building a child safety fence for the kids  Sharing a meal with fellow Hebronites and visitors A blazing bonfire at our sukkah and an impromptu concert thanks to Neal and Yakira May Yehovah's blessings and shalom cover everyone during this special week of Sukkot.   I will post more photos and updates as the week progress. Shalom

Yom Kippur - Day of Atonement

What a blessed day of rejoicing and reflection.  Messiah Yeshua came and will come again to rule from Jerusalem and dispense justice and righteousness, bringing peace and restoration for all of creation.  Isn't the wisdom of Yehovah in establishing the cycle of feasts and set apart days marvellous!  He's all too aware of our human frailties and the ever increasing need for His people to remain alert, prepared and able to give testimony to all mankind, so the annual cycle of feasts serve as a constant rehearsal and reminder.  May Israel, His chosen and set apart people, be blessed and provided for and may the light of their Messiah dawn in their hearts. Here at Hebron it's preparation time for next week's Sukkot celebrations.  I don't think I've ever been this excited and I'm so looking forward to the busyness, the celebrations and the fellowship.  Each year we tweak and adjust what we do and how we do it, and I'm sure until we hear that heavenly sh...

Yom Teruah

The month of set apart days has begun with a blast and a shout.  Isn't this so much better than christian Christmas and Easter!  Those of us who were able gathered at Christine's house for a time of joyous noise, shofar blasts, scripture readings, discussion and a meal.  These times are so precious and meaningful and I always leave with a sense of purpose and peace. Shofars, shouts of joy, instruments and Yakira's silver trumpet Here at Hebron we have a little visitor who has decided to settle into the house paddock for the night, and I really hope she's there in the morning.  As I was coming up from the bottom dam I was surprised by a young deer making her way down to the middle paddock.  The only deer I've seen in these parts was a big stag in the middle of the road one night - Bonnie will be able to tell you about that one! - so I'm not sure where she's come from. Another not so welcome event is the annual march of the millipedes.  Nothing a...

Wind, Sun and Festivals.... it's all happening!

I arrived home from Victoria to the windiest day we've had in a very long time.  Our weather station recorded winds up to 96.6 km/h - no wonder I couldn't hear myself think!  Surprisingly the only damage was the shed 3G aerial dislodged, a few sheets of tin blew out of the rubbish pile and a small branch from a tree at the side of the house came down.  The wind has finally abated and we're enjoying gorgeous sunny, spring days. The latest acquisition is a loading ramp for our stock.  This will prove invaluable when it comes to loading our sheep to take to the butchers in a couple of weeks.  Previously this has been a difficult and stressful exercise for the stock, let alone the blokes who had to manually get them into the trailer. We are also looking into purchasing sheep yard panels. Next week begins the festival season and at this time of the year Hebron comes into its own.  How blessed are we to have this property to come and celebrate the festivals....

Step by step, little by little....

The promise of Yehovah to the children of Israel that He would pave the way ahead of them little by little is His wisdom and foresight (Ex 23:28-30).  That has been our experience here at Hebron as well.  This process is producing good results for the land, for the stock, for the infrastructure and for our community.  Of course not without its struggles, blood, sweat and tears, but it is definitely worth it all. Since moving back a couple of months ago I have wanted to start making the house and surrounds attractive, welcoming and a good testament.  On Sunday I finished cleaning up and making a garden bed.  This spot has been a mess of rocks, piles of dirt, charcoal, metal and rubbish so it was a very big tick off my list.  I planted my dwarf pomegranate and annuals, so come Sukkot it should look more attractive. Brendan installed the yagi 3G antenna and modem up at the shed on Sunday.  It needs to be fine tuned but we now have a ...
