Coming home to Hebron after being away for two weeks was a real treat. I drove through 4,500 kms of this amazing country and loved the wide open spaces but I can honestly say that driving through the Hebron gate was the best part of the trip. It just takes a trip away to make you appreciate the amount of rainfall we receive, the abundance of feed for our stock and the well functioning property we are creating.
The other aspect that I appreciated while I was away was our fellowship. I missed our times together on Shabbat; being with like-minded people who uphold torah and the ways of our Adoni. Because of the statute of YHVH to gather together for the moed of YHVH I had to juggle the dates of my trip to ensure that I would be home to celebrate Yom Teruah and I wouldn't have missed it for the world. It was great to be together with people whose hearts are aligned, to hear the shofars being blown and our voices raised together. Do I miss big meetings with lots of people, most of whom wouldn't know me from a bar of soap? Not one bit!
These kadosh and prophetic times keep us focused on YHVH's kingdom and the coming again of Yeshua, the Messiah. How gracious is our Father to set into creation and time, cyclical times where we prepare our hearts, return to torah and fix our eyes on the author and finisher of our faith. The kindness, compassion and love of YHVH is overwhelming and brings me to my knees and causes me to dance with joy at once.
Next week we will be coming together for Sukkot and Hebron will be filled with praise, prayers and study again. We have such a good time together, making use of the wonderful property we have been blessed with.
The frogs are filling the air with 'bonk, bonk' and the dams with tadpoles http://frogs.org.au/frogs/species/Limnodynastes/dumerili/ so I can just imagine how much fun the children will have trying to find the frogs and sailing paper boats. The wind has been blowing hard today so I'm praying that it will ease off for the week of Sukkot. John erected a wind barrier for the barbeque area but unfortunately it has taken a beating today and will need some TLC. Over the weekend we selected two wethers to be sent to the butcher in preparation for Sukkot as well.
Yom Kippur is approaching and as we prepare our hearts and lives for this important day, and our property for Sukkot, may YHVH's Name be exalted in our homes and lives.
How blessed are we to have Hebron and how blessed is Hebron to have us!
